Founded in August 2015 in Mathare, Nairobi, INUA KIKE—meaning "Women Rising" in Swahili—is a grassroots, community-based organization committed to empowering women and girls from marginalized communities, including those with disabilities. By strengthening their agency, INUA KIKE works to eliminate all forms of violence while promoting safety, resilience, and financial independence.

Guided by the principles of inclusivity and the "Leave No One Behind" agenda, INUA KIKE aligns its work with Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5): Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. The organization addresses the root causes of violence in all its forms, including gender-based violence (GBV), inequality, and poverty, striving to create a society where every woman and girl can live safely, thrive, and reach her full potential.

INUA KIKE takes a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach to delivering holistic interventions that address the unique needs of women and girls, including those with disabilities. Our programs provide psychosocial support to prevent and respond to violence, while survivors receive critical legal, medical, and psychological assistance to aid in their recovery.

Through the creation of safe spaces, community awareness initiatives, and sustainable support networks, INUA KIKE empowers women and girls to break the cycle of violence and discrimination, reclaim their rights, and build resilient, independent lives.
